Oral health is essential to overall health. Providing the standard of care for periodontal maintenance can help patients manage their diabetes and reduce complications. This course highlights evidence-based guidelines for delivering dental care to people with diabetes, including specific circumstances and considerations related to the condition.

At the conclusion of the session, participants will:
• Describe the relationship and impact between oral health and diabetes
• Identify the delivery of safe and effective dental treatment for people with diabetes
• Provide dental services proven to improve the health of people with diabetes
